Firefly Lights Installation. That corner of the ro Firefly Lights Installation. That corner of the room looked so empty after taking down the Christmas tree and I missed the lights coming up at night. I made this piece a few years ago. Porcelain cubes with steel wiring and LED wire. Porcelain surface was treated with terra sigillata and saggar fired. The cube insides were glazed to better reflect the light. A timer is set to turn on the lights at night. This large piece was one of my favorites in the show. It also symbolizes the direction I hope 2025 will take: bigger, bolder, and eye-catching 😁 If you get a chance, go see the show, it’s amazing and inspiring.

Very appropriate as I reflect on 2024 on this last day, and quietly take a deep breath for the new year to come. I am deeply grateful for all the support I got from my family, friends, patrons and art enthusiasts 🙏🏻 They are the fuel to my creative engine. 2024 was a quiet year that opened up new opportunities in the coming year. Teaching, developing new work, connecting with other artists. As 2025 approaches, I am gathering my energy to sustain the path I’m on and push forward. Wishing you all a peaceful and successful new year!🎉
